Job Search Coaching
Beyond CV Makeovers
As a trained linguist, I can help you proofread, edit or rewrite your CV and cover letter to remove all typos, spelling or grammatical errors.
My services go beyond this. I teach you how to think from a recruiter’s point of view. I take your content to a level of clarity and relevance that increases your chances for an interview.
We will analyse the job vacancy of your choice, identify and reorganise content that proves that you are a good fit for the position and company. I will let you know how to keep your CV design A.T.S. (Automated Tracking System) friendly. Many companies use this programme to process incoming CVs.
If you struggle to find vacancies, I can teach you keyword techniques to broaden your search on line. I can also research potential employers for you, point you towards recruitment agencies, job boards or head-hunters, depending on your situation. I follow certain industries and employers on LinkedIn and social media with my clients in mind. When possible, I connect you to people working in that field, organisation or company.
If you are in the process of rethinking your career, I use an Ikigai-based set of questions to guide you through this brainstorming process.
Whether you are a seasoned professional, a recent university graduate, a knowledge worker looking into working abroad or a parent returning to the workforce, let me help you with your job search journey.
For clients who want to work In the Netherlands, I combine a large professional network with a sound knowledge of employers of internationals. When possible I connect my clients to people working in that industry or holding a similar role.
Why choose me?
I have been fascinated by the process of job applications since being a volunteer for the 1997 job fair of the Latin American Association of Atlanta. We welcomed 500 jobseekers and introduced them to employers who wanted bilingual employees to enrich their corporation or company. It was an incredible experience to analyse those 500 CVs. I could see which were engaging, had a great layout, were well organised and relevant to the vacancies available at the fair. Some made me want to meet the applicant, others were too vague, cliché or impersonal.
Since then I have educated myself on the art form of CV and cover letter writing and assisted people from all walks of life over the years. I help jobseekers with wisdom, knowledge and care. It is common that my clients refer me to their friends.
I work online and can assist people from all over the world if they are applying in English to a vacancy.
To prepare for our free ‘get to know you’ 30 minute Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp call, I need some basic background information about your situation. Thank you for filling out this short questionnaire. Your personal information will not be shared with others nor will I use your email address for promotional use.

"I'm so glad Lucie helped me with the English translation of my new website (www.retreatsardinia.com) which was originally in Dutch! Quick, accurate, passionate, caring, personal, friendly, professional, all qualities I regard as essential personally too. So I deeply recommend working with Lucie."

"Lucie efficiently revised my CV: she gave it a professional look and made my academic as well as my personal assets stand out. Moreover, she is a wonderful coach in my job application procedures. She connected me to someone from a company that I could imagine myself working for and this person forwarded my CV internally to the right department. Lucie advised me on how to write an effective motivation letter. She still helps me to keep an eye on achieving my (personal) goals. If you are looking for someone who is good at organizing, can listen well and is supportive, I am certain you will find a reliable partner in Lucie."

"I have hired Lucie for editing and writing assignments in English ranging from course transcriptions to website content for the last few years. Her writing style is precise and engaging. Our highly educated audience mostly consists of non-native speakers of English who are learning complex new concepts in global mobility for HR, relocation and Comp & Ben specialists. They value accuracy and clarity. She has translated reports and promotional texts for our organisation from Dutch to English as well. I appreciate how she also provides marketing advice when suitable and raises questions from a client's perspective before we finalise messages to our current and prospective clients at Expatise Academy"

Lucie is a powerhouse! I met Lucie several years ago when I volunteered for The World in Your Classroom in The Hague, which Lucie coordinated. As volunteers Lucie made us feel welcome, understood and so valued for the experiences we shared with Dutch students. Because of Lucie's program management, we got as much out of the experience as the students. Working with Lucie was always a delight - she's brilliant, creative, organized, and perfectly direct. I see why she seems able to accomplish so much in the same # of hours the rest of us get. Plus, her warm spirit and generosity shine through in every interaction.
