CV writing and coaching as a gift

Treating a jobseeker to a CV makeover

One of my clients is about to start a new job, her dream job, a job that does not come up often and where she could have a major impact on cancer patients for years to come. We worked on her CV and cover letter. She performed very well at a series of interviews with her soon-to-be employer and was made an offer she could not refuse. She was told by 2 the people who interviewed her that her CV was very strong, That feedback made her decide to help me help somebody else by paying me so that I could empower someone who could normally not afford my services.

It is such an empowering Pay it Forward concept! She would like for others who really benefited from professional services to pay it forward to someone they do not know but whose life would be changed when the barrier of not being able to afford help is brought down. She knows that I am in touch with charities and others who help people who currently struggle. She trusts my judgement on whom I pick.

What does a jobseeker get through your gift of £99?

As a trained linguist, I will not only proofread, edit or rewrite their existing CV to remove all typos, spelling or grammatical errors. I will provide them with several options of templates that will not let Applicant Tracking Systems rule them out just because of formatting issues.

I will help them applying to a suitable vacancy while teaching them how to

– think from a recruiter’s point of view

– how to customise their CV and cover letter for each application

– how to find more suitable vacancies and tapping into jobs beyond online job boards.

I help them remember and describe all the experience they have regarding to the set of skills the potential employer requests. This takes their content to a level of clarity and relevance that increases their chances for an interview.

I get to know all my clients from your professional experience, their personality and fit in a team. I help jobseekers with wisdom, knowledge and care. It is common for my clients to refer me to their friends as they know from experience what a difference I can make.

I am based in Glasgow and work online which means that I can assist people from all over the world if they are applying in English to a vacancy.

Problem Solving

Let me assist you in coming up with solutions when you need advice.

As a first-time author, I wasn't sure what to expect from the very necessary service of proofreading prior to my book being typeset for printing. Lucie was meticulous whilst editing my manuscript. She explained the tools she would use and added a tracker feature so that I could easily see the suggested changes in punctuation and clarity of phrasing for ease of reading. Lucie indicated that for the size of my book, approx. 30,000 words she would allow 10 days. However, it was back with me 7 days later. I did not require any further revisions. I cannot recommend her work highly enough.

"Lucie has been an invaluable support to my business over the past year and a half. Lucie connected me to the right people, developed compelling stories for my website, held me to account to ensure I am gathering the right information to make my business story persuasive. Lucie has been a constant companion to my business, someone to bounce ideas from and trustworthy. Lucie is a quietly powerful person, her knowledge is outstanding, the detail she puts into research and communication is one of the best I have seen. Thank you for everything you have done and are doing for me and with me.

"Lucie efficiently revised my CV: she gave it a professional look and made my academic as well as my personal assets stand out. Moreover, she is a wonderful coach in my job application procedures. She connected me to someone from a company that I could imagine myself working for and this person forwarded my CV internally to the right department. Lucie advised me on how to write an effective motivation letter. She still helps me to keep an eye on achieving my (personal) goals. If you are looking for someone who is good at organizing, can listen well and is supportive, I am certain you will find a reliable partner in Lucie."

"I have hired Lucie for editing and writing assignments in English ranging from course transcriptions to website content for the last few years. Her writing style is precise and engaging. Our highly educated audience mostly consists of non-native speakers of English who are learning complex new concepts in global mobility for HR, relocation and Comp & Ben specialists. They value accuracy and clarity. She has translated reports and promotional texts for us from Dutch to English as well. I appreciate how she also provides marketing advice when suitable and raises questions from a client's perspective before we finalise messages to our current and prospective clients.

Lucie is a powerhouse! I met Lucie several years ago when I volunteered for The World in Your Classroom in The Hague, which Lucie coordinated. As volunteers Lucie made us feel welcome, understood and so valued for the experiences we shared with Dutch students. Because of Lucie's program management, we got as much out of the experience as the students. Working with Lucie was always a delight - she's brilliant, creative, organized, and perfectly direct. I see why she seems able to accomplish so much in the same # of hours the rest of us get. Plus, her warm spirit and generosity shine through in every interaction.

Working in Delft as a social and cultural project developer I met Lucie who wanted to set up an organisation for expat mothers, so they could find their ways and places in the Dutch society.
And  that is how non-profit Delft Mama was born! Lucie is a committed, whole hearted person who is genuinely kind, caring and full of respect. With her social and communicative skills and perseverance she is able to create programmes, connect people. She explores and expresses ideas, feelings and concepts.

I contacted Lucie for PR services to support and promote the work of our non-profit (The Period Place) which runs an annual summit every May 28th about the advocacy against period poverty, providing education on menstrual hygiene management and supporting women and girls undergoing period poverty. Lucie was able to write our message clearly such that it attracted media attention. Both television and print media were excited to publish our story. The impact and exposure have helped more people become aware of our services and the support that we provide for our focus community. I would recommend Lucie any time for PR services because she writes very compelling briefs and sources for the right platforms for stories.
